Watch TBS special highlighting one of the largest "wilderness" islands in America, the Cumberland Island, Georgia National Seashore. Thanks to the Carnegie family (and their heirs) who generously deeded much of the island's land to the national park service, in 1972 Cumberland Island became a protected national seashore. Access to the island is only by boat (ferry service limits daily visitors to 300). The island is a bit over 17 miles long, located just across the Cumberland Sound from historic Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island, Florida).
