Event Description

Civil War re-enactments depicting life at the Fort in 1864. See one of America's best-preserved 19th-century forts, perched on the northern tip of Amelia Island, overlooking the Cumberland Sound, (adjacent to Georgia's Cumberland Island). These special living history re-enactments take place the first weekend each month at Fort Clinch State Park. Watch a Fort Clinch video http://www.ameliaislandliving.net/video/fort-clinch-state-park-video. Experience artillery demonstrations, kitchen and laundry activities, carpenter shop, blacksmith and more. See living history from 9 am to 5 pm on the first weekend Saturday of every month, and 9 am until noon on the first weekend Sunday at the fort. State Park entry is $6 per vehicle (2 to 8 people), daytime tour of fort is additional $2 per person. Call 904-277-7274 for more information (and ask about the limited evening candlelight tours of the fort, seasonal dates).
