Amelia Island Film Festival

AMELIA ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL -- Filmmakers will gather on Amelia Island, Florida for the 5-day event to be held on this barrier island from February 25 to March 1st, 2010. A wide variety of films are presented during the film festival, including: “Feature films, shorts, Animation, Documentary, Narrative Fiction, Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia Special Interest, Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Educational, Horror, Musical, Romantic Comedy, Satire Social Issue, and Sci-Fi films.”  The festival also has a category, "Amelia Island Home Videos." According to their mission statement, the Amelia Island Film Festival is “committed to providing the student and independent filmmaker a venue to screen their films.”
Films will be screened at various venues in historic Fernandina Beach, including at City Hall, Indigo Alley, and the Intercoastal Wine Company. The ticket price to attend a single screening is $10. The “President’s Choice Screening” will be held at Hampton Inn & Suites ($15 admission).
Love films and being on the water? There’s also a special event, “Sail with the Filmmakers,” sponsored by Cumberland Sound Ferry on Friday, February 26, 2010. Take a ferry ride ($22 per person roundtrip with $5 of each ticket going back to the AIFF). Enjoy a sail with the filmmakers from Fernandina Beach to St. Marys, Georgia, with views of Amelia Island, FL and Cumberland Island, GA. There will also be a welcome and reception by the St. Marys Film Society.
