EAT WILD-CAUGHT AMERICAN SHRIMP

The American appetite for shrimp is big. Americans love shrimp, as proven by the fact that it’s the most valuable seafood import to the United States (reportedly over $4 billion by 2006 data). Unfortunately, much of the shrimp we eat are Asian imports, farmed shrimp, not the higher quality wild-caught American shrimp. Furthermore, this week the Asian shrimp industry was in the news for appalling abuse in Asian shrimp processing plants, called “shrimp slavery.”

LOUD NEIGHBOR

I’ve been sleep challenged for years, and now a new, loud neighbor has moved in behind my home. I’m barely getting any sleep, and tried to drown out the noise by turning up the TV. It appears they’ve come from Mexico (maybe Central America), and no doubt they skipped the U.S. immigration department (like many others here in the U.S.). Although this is private, gated community, they’ve managed to get in without paying the lifestyle membership fee, nor property taxes, yet enjoy this beautiful neig… Continue
